靖江外国语学校简介
靖江外国语学校是一所百年名校，其历史可以追溯到原靖江市实验小学的前身——创办于1905年的靖江县高等小学堂。2004年，原靖江市实验小学和创办于2003年的原靖江外国语学校合并，组建成九年一贯制学校，南迁至新校区办学，并沿用“靖江外国语学校”的校名。
靖江外国语学校占地8万余平方米，其中建筑面积5万余平方米，绿化面积3万余平方米，运动场地面积3.5万余平方米，学校环境优美，人文氛围与现代气息浓厚。学校现有112个教学班级，在籍学生6000余人，教职员工近500人。2010年，吸纳靖江市城南小学和红兴小学为学校的两所分校。

Jingjiang Foreign Language School(JFLS) is a famous school with a history of 100 years, dating from 1905, in which year Jingjiang Advanced Primary School-the subsequent Jingjiang Experimental Elementary School(JEES) was originated. In 2004, JEES and the former JFLS, which was established in 2003, intergrated into a new school, consisting of a primary department and a secondary one. The new campus was located in the south of the city and continued to use the name of Jingjiang Foreign Language Schoool. In 2010, Chengnan Primary School and Hongxing Primary School were combined as two son- branches.
The campus occupies over 80,000 square meters, including more than 50,000 square meters of building area, 35,000 square meters of sporting area and 30,000 square meters of gardening area. The school has a beautiful schoolyard and a full-bodied cultural atmosphere, with 112 classes, over 6500 students and more than 500 staff and teaching faculty.
Since its establishment, JFLS has been following the educational motto: to be healthy, to be good. Also, it is always insisting on the teaching ethic: facing every day with a smile, filling study with fun. JFLS advocates the school spirit of carrying wisdom with great virtues, being practical and diligent in action. It emphasizes teaching that is : teaching with wisdom, educating with love. The educational target of JFLS is to produce honest, creative students who enjoy studying and thinking as well. In brief, JFLS aims at laying a foundation of the students’ lifelong learning and getting each student to be successful.
All the staff, devoted to the work, are of noble exemplary morality and high teaching level. The students have creativity and practice as well as fine qualities and many accomplishments. They have repeatedly borne fruits in multifarious competitions. A special feature of the school is the large variety of opportunities for the students to develop their other abilities, such as the Sports Festival, the Reading Festival, the Arts Festival, the Science Festival, the English Festival, the Math-culture Festival.
